The Woodlands Area Chamber Names Brad Bailey 2026 Community Citizen of the Year
The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce named The Woodlands Township Board of Directors Chairman Brad Bailey as 2026 Community Citizen of the Year, recognizing his leadership, public service and continued commitment to strengthening The Woodlands area.
Chamber representatives surprised Bailey with the announcement during public comment at The Woodlands Township Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, July 16. Chamber Representatives included Chamber Chairman of the Board Justin Kendrick (Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center & NE Hospital), Chamber President & CEO, Aaron Cox and Chamber Board Member and VP of Government & Economic Affairs Heather Ramsey (San Jacinto River Authority). Also present was former Chamber Chairman Julie Amble (The Woodlands Christian Academy) who served on the award selection committee.
The Community Citizen of the Year Award recognizes a local resident whose leadership and service have made a meaningful impact on the economic, civic or cultural well-being of The Woodlands area. Bailey’s contributions are felt across each of these areas, reflecting a broad and lasting commitment to the community.
“Brad’s service is a shining example of the spirit of the Community Citizen of the Year Award,” said Aaron Cox, President & CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. “He approaches public service with a genuine commitment to the community and we are proud to recognize him as our 2026 Community Citizen of the Year."
Bailey was first elected to The Woodlands Township Board of Directors in 2022 and reelected in 2024. During his service on the Board, he has supported initiatives related to fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, public safety, infrastructure and stronger community partnerships.
His community involvement extends beyond the Township Board. Bailey has served in leadership roles with Visit The Woodlands and is involved with local civic and nonprofit organizations, including Angel Reach. He is also a graduate of Leadership Montgomery County and serves professionally as Director of Government Affairs for Waste Connections.
Following the surprise announcement, Bailey expressed his gratitude and recognized his fellow Board members for bringing different perspectives to the table and working together to address community priorities through dialogue and public engagement.
Bailey will be formally honored during The Chamber’s 48th Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Kevin Brady Community Center.
The Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon brings Chamber members, business leaders and community partners together to recognize outstanding service, celebrate member anniversaries and reflect on the Chamber’s accomplishments during the past year. The program will also include the Chamber’s Annual Report, year-in-review presentation and recognition of additional specialty award recipients.
