    Job Description

    Maintenance Technician HVAC  has a responsibility to have knowledge of basic equipment maintenance/service, such as how to diagnose and provide service and repairs to hotel equipment including electrical,  HVAC refrigeration, etc.   In addition, the Maintenance Technician HVAC  will assist the team with all other repairs and maintenance, as needed and directed by management.   The Maintenance Technician HVAC must respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction. The Maintenance Technician HVAC  will be responsible for exemplifying the resort's culture.



    • HVAC certification or experience equivalent is a preferred

    • At least 2 years’ maintenance experience preferably in a hotel setting

    • Must have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

    • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written

    • Must be detailed orientated and work well under pressure

    • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

    • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor

    • Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance

    • Working knowledge is generally learned on-the- Job or through a series of professional certifications

    • Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment/smart phones

    • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates

    • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

    • Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests



    • Service and repair all Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment including but not limited to variable air volume boxes, air handling units, rooftop units, condensers, cooling towers, pumps, chillers,   water heaters,  water treatment equipment, coolers, and freezers.

    • Monitor and maintain temperatures and thermostat settings in all company buildings. Make adjustments as needed to ensure guest comfort.

    • Work with and maintain HVAC Preventive Maintenance Program, including adjustments, replacement of filters, cleaning of coils, and lubrication of units.

    • Assist other facilities technicians with servicing and repair of all ice makers, walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerators, and other related equipment.

    • Handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs

    • Handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire building

    • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors

    • Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in rooms or public area in a timely manner

    • Source, order, receive, stock, and maintain parts inventory.

    • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment.

    • Perform job duties in full compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.


    Working Conditions

    The noise level is usually moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and at heights. The team member is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and vibration.
