The Laundry Attendant is responsible for folding, ironing, sorting and maintaining the proper storage of all resort linen.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
Ability to operate a commercial washer extractor, ironer, dryers, folders along with other laundry equipment. Ability to transport, handle and/or lift 75 lbs. (NOTE: housekeeping supplies and laundry). Ability to interact well with others.
Sorting all linen on a daily basis. Loading and unloading all dryers in the proper manner, to include the cleaning of lint traps in dryers two times daily or when needed. Operating the linen spreader, towel/linen folder and ironer in the proper manner. Operating a commercial washer/extractor in a relief capacity as directed. Reporting any problems or malfunctions of Laundry equipment to a supervisor. Utilizing disposable gloves and the necessary protection while working in the Laundry area. Assisting other Laundry personnel with their job assignments when necessary. Maintaining a clean and organized work area. Turning off equipment prior to leaving at the end of each shift. Assist Pick-up with loading of closets when necessary.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Any other task, written or verbal, that is assigned by Management. Maintain a good working relationship with all Departments.
ENVIRONMENT: Indoor work with hard surfaces. Good ventilation with artificial lighting. Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals. Work entails varying conditions of noise levels and temperature.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, and pushing pulling
- Frequent lifting/carrying of up to 25 - 50 lbs, and occasional lifting/carrying of up to 75 lbs or more.
- Frequent manual dexterity of hands, gross motor and fine motor skills; constant vision and hearing.
