COOKE ANNOUNCES RUN FOR TOWNSHIP BOARD

The Woodlands, Texas July 23, 2019. Long time Woodlands attorney WALTER COOKE announced today that he filed to run for Position 5 on the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Township. Election Day is November 5, 2019.

Walter, an attorney who limits his practice to commercial real estate and banking, has been a lawyer since 1974 and is a partner in the law firm of Orgain Bell & Tucker, LLP.

Walter, his wife Madalyn and their three boys moved to The Woodlands in 1990 and Walter moved his law practice from Houston to The Woodlands in the late 1990’s. Interfaith of The Woodlands recognized Walter as a 2005 Hometown Hero in part because of his service on the boards of Montgomery County Youth Service, New Danville, The Woodlands Symphony and the Pavilion.

Walter also served as a board member of The Woodlands Community Association and represented The Woodlands Association as an attorney.

When asked why he is running, Walter explained that:
“In April of this year my wife of 47 years died. Our boys are out of school and on their own. It was a good time for me to attempt to at least partially repay The Woodlands for the wonderful life we have enjoyed here by serving on The Township Board.

As a newcomer to the Board, I will bring a fresh perspective to the Board as it deals with the challenges we face in The Woodlands such as management succession, mobility, incorporation, crime and community maintenance.

As a political independent and attorney, my clients will be the residents of The Woodlands. I have no hidden agendas what you see is what you get!

I look forward to the campaign and the healthy exchange of ideas between the candidates and between the residents and the candidates which the campaign will generate.
