A Wondrous Workshop for Parents of Young Learners Sponsored by All Nations Community School Enter the wondrous world of childhood learning. Cross the threshold of those first feelings of wonder. Trip into the land of the marvelous! Come join me for a one-hour workshop filled with information, tips for encouraging literacy in young learners, and FUN! We’ll study a bit about the brains of young children, learn about the power of play, and get some pointers on how to promote the love of reading and writing. I promise you won’t be bored! Joyce Armstrong Carroll, EDD, HLD is the Co-director of Abydos Literacy Learning. The author of over twenty professional books and more than fifty professional articles, she has taught every grade from K to grad school in her 60 years in the profession. Carroll holds an honorary degree from Georgian Court University for her “mark on the world of education and in so doing influenced the future for good” and was awarded the Edmund J. Farrell Lifetime Achievement Award from the Texas Council of Teachers of English Language Arts. Dr. Carroll’s mantra is, “If you teach them, they will learn.”
