  • OCTOBER 2017 // The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society | Light the Night Walk   

    Non-Profit:     The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society | Light the Night Walk

    Mission:     The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

    VOLUNTEER PROJECT:  CRT is tasked with 20+ adults to run registration tables at the Light the Night Walk on Sunday, October 22 from 5:30 – 7:30pm at Town Green Park

  • NOVEMBER 2017 // Interfaith of The Woodlands | Senior Eating Well grocery bag assembly   

    Non-Profit:     Interfaith of The Woodlands | Seniors Eating Well grocery bag assembly

    Mission:     Interfaith of The Woodlands mission is to build a more loving and caring community through service. The Mission of Seniors Eating Well is to provide support with wellness care to help seniors age in place. 

    VOLUNTEER PROJECT:   Volunteers (qty: 8-10) will assemble grocery bags for Seniors Eating Well Program which delivers monthly groceries to about 180 senior adults. All grocery bags contain non-perishable food and fresh produce pre-packed for delivery.

    Project Dates:   CRT volunteers should plan to volunteer Monday, November 13 for a 2 hour shift from 9:00am4:00pm. Register to volunteer with Cyndi.Alvarado@WoodlandsChamber.org


     

  • DECEMBER 2017 // The Woodlands Family YMCA Branch Crossing | Bright Life Candy Cane Ball 

    Non-Profit:     The Woodlands Family YMCA Branch Crossing 

    Mission:     YMCA Bright Life is a day/ afterschool program serving adults and high school students with disabilities by providing social, recreational, prevocational and life skills activities.

    VOLUNTEER PROJECT:  Volunteers for this event assist with chaperoning, serving food and being buddies for the evening with participants. Dress is Christmas Casual.

  • JANUARY 2018 // Texas Children's Hospital - The Woodlands 

    Non-Profit:     Texas Children's Hospital - The Woodlands

    Mission:     Texas Children’s Mission is to create a healthier future for children and women throughout our global community by leading patient.

    DONATION PROJECT:   Texas Children’s at The Woodlands has immediate need for new clothing for adults and children of all ages. This clothing is provided by Guest Services to families that are facing an unexpected, emergency stay at the hospital. Donation needs include: New undergarments, shorts or yoga pants, bulk t-shirts or sweatshirts, onesies, socks and sports bras. All items MUST BE NEW.

    Project Dates:   Collections will be open from January 1-31, 2018 at The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. 


     

  • JANUARY 2018 // Bridgewood Farms

    Non-Profit:     Bridgewood Farms

    Mission:      Bridgewood Farms is the premier provider of programs and services in partnership with families and the community, enabling individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their highest potential through training and life experiences that build self-esteem and promote personal independence.

    VOLUNTEER PROJECT:  CRT will be volunteering to do a craft project, recreational activity or assist with weekly bowling. Project will be during traditional office hours

  • FEBRUARY 2018 // Children’s Book on Wheels | Valentine’s Literacy Party

    Non-Profit:     Children’s Book on Wheels 

    Mission:      Children’s Books on Wheels mission is to promote literacy by providing books and educational literature to children and their families.

     

    DONATION PROJECT:  CRT will be collecting donations for the CBOW Valentine’s Literacy Party on February 8, 2018. Donations needed included new or used children’s books and valentine’s day cards in addition to monetary donations for ice cream sundae toppings, goodie bags, fun games and table decorations to host a party for 30 children in the Tamina and Oak Ridge Feeder Zone.

    Project Dates:   CRT volunteers should plan to have donations ready at the party by Thursday, February 8th at 4:00pm. Donation or volunteer inquiries should be directed to Cyndi.Alvarado@WoodlandsChamber.org.

    Save the Date:   The Community Relations Team will host the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Parish - Family Life Center.


     

  • MAY 2018 // Insperity Invitational | Greater Houston Golf Charity​

    Non-Profit:     Insperity Invitational

    Mission:      Insperity Invitational’s mission is to host a first-class PGA Tour champions event and donate a portion of the proceeds to local charity groups.

    VOLUNTEER PROJECT:  Volunteer groups of 8-10 will assist tournament staff in event management “inside the ropes”. Group will be placed with responsibilities for the best fit. 

    Project Dates:   CRT volunteers should plan to volunteer a 4-8 hour shift between April 30  and May 6. Specific details will be posted closer to the event at WoodlandsChamber.org/CRT. Register to volunteer with Cyndi.Alvarado@WoodlandsChamber.org.


     

  • JUNE 2018 // Crisis Assistance Center | Be A Good Samaritan Drive  

    Non-Profit:     Crisis Assistance Center | Be A Good Samaritan Drive

    Mission:     Crisis Assistance Center is a source of hope for Montgomery County residents experiencing financial crisis in basic needs of housing, utilities, food and clothing. Strengthened through collaboration with community and faith partners, we honor and restore dignity of individuals and families to retain greater levels of responsibility and financial independence, by delivering assistance and life lasting strategic solutions. 

    DONATION PROJECT:   CAC is seeking donations for Be a Good Samaritan (B.A.G.S) including individual packages of non-perishable, ready to eat foods and personal hygenine items. Specific lists can be found at WoodlandsChamber.org/CRT

    Project Dates:   Collections will be open from June 1-30, 2018 at The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. 


     

  • JULY 2018 // United Way of Greater Houston - Montgomery County Regional Center | Project Undercover 

    Non-Profit:     United Way of Greater Houston – Montgomery County Regional Center 

    Mission:     United Way engages caring people to improve lives and build stronger community.  When resources are tight, families focus on clothing that people can see, making it as presentable as possible. Project Undercover’s mission is to provide those clothes that we cannot see to provide a basic need and help children focus on learning.

    DONATION PROJECT:   Project Undercover is seeking NEW packages of socks and undies to distribute to students in need as they prepare to go back to school. All items must be new in packages. ​

    Project Dates:   Collections will be open in July and August at The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. Monetary donations can be made or Chamber Members can donate via Amazon Wish List. A link will be provided at WoodlandsChamber.org/CRT

  • SEPTEMBER 2018 // The Pangea Network | Out of Africa Gala

    Non-Profit:     Insperity Invitational

    Mission:      The Pangea Network is an international non-profit dedicated to empowering motivated individuals in Kenya and the United States with the knowledge, skills and an on going network of support in order to achieve their dreams and make positive, life-changing contributions in the communities where they live. 

    VOLUNTEER PROJECT:  CRT Volunteers (qty. 8-10) will be assisting with the annual fundraising gala on September 15, 2018 including set up, manning stations at event, helping with games, etc.   

    Project Dates:   CRT volunteers should plan to volunteer Saturday, September 15 for shifts between 4:00 – 11:00pm. Register to volunteer with Cyndi.Alvarado@WoodlandsChamber.org

    Non-Profit:     New Danville

    Mission:     The New Danville community provides adults with disabilities and the elderly to live enriched and purposeful lives. Our self-sustaining, master-planned, integrated community provides our clients with a place to live, learn, work and grow. 

    VOLUNTEER PROJECT:  CRT Volunteers (qty. 8-10) will be assisting with a fall festival event for IDD clients with games, activities and lunch.
